Dr. Milan J. Jugan, DMD, is a renowned maxillofacial surgeon
dedicated to transforming lives through advanced dental implant

Biography & Expertise

Extensive Experience:
Prior to joining Desert Maxillofacial, Dr. Jugan served as a general dentist
aboard ship with the U.S. Navy for 20 years. He also spent 12 years as a
clinical instructor at two of the U.S. Navy’s oral & maxillofacial surgery
residency programs.
Education & Advanced Training:
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Jugan received his Doctor of
Dental Medicine degree in 1992 from the University of Pittsburgh School of
Dental Medicine. He completed a four-year residency in oral and
maxillofacial surgery at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in 2002 and later
received advanced fellowship training in facial cosmetic surgery at the
University Of Alabama at Birmingham.
Naval Service & Battle Training:
Dr. Jugan’s naval career sparked his interest in oral and maxillofacial
surgery, particularly through his exposure to facial reconstruction. His skills
were honed by treating and reconstructing facial injuries of active-duty
personnel during combat operations. He served aboard amphibious assault
ships such as the USS NASSAU and USS BOXER, and aircraft carriers
including the USS RONALD REAGAN and USS GEORGE WASHINGTON. He
also deployed in direct support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi
Freedom.
