The Dental Implant Procedure

Step 1:
Initial Implant Placement

Surgical Procedure: During the first surgery, a small titanium screw is placed into the jawbone at the site of the missing tooth.

Healing Period: Over the next three to six months, the implant integrates with your jawbone. During this time, you may wear temporary dentures and follow a soft diet.

Step 2:
Uncovering and Restoration

Second Procedure: After successful osseointegration, Dr. Jugan will perform a minor surgery to expose the implant and attach a small post that emerges through the gum.

Prosthetic Attachment: The final step involves attaching a custom-made artificial tooth (crown) over the post, perfectly aligned

The entire process typically takes Six to eight months. In certain cases, single-stage implants, where only one surgical procedure is needed, are possible, but they Still require a minimum Of six weeks Of healing before the prosthetic placement.

A Collaborative Approach

Dental implant treatment at Desert Maxillofacial is a collaborative effort between our oral and
maxillofacial surgeon and your restorative dentist. While Dr. Jugan handles the implant surgery,
tooth extractions, and any necessary bone grafting, your restorative dentist fabricates
and fits the permanent prosthesis. This teamwork ensures a seamless, aesthetically pleasing, and
functional restoration.
